The Concert

Trio Harmonia presents a programme entirely connected to Mallorca, shaped by different perspectives on the island.

The ensemble —Catalina Roig on flute, Maria Assumpció Janer on harp and Maria Rosselló as soprano— explores a repertoire that brings together compositions rooted in popular tradition, traditional songs and works based on texts by poets from the island.

The programme includes works by Biel Oliver, Antoni Torrandell, Jaume Mas Porcel and Andreu Torrens, alongside traditional songs and texts by Guillem d’Efak, Joan Alcover and Josep Maria Llompart.

A programme that brings music and words together through different ways of approaching Mallorca.

Trio Harmonia

Catalina Roig (flute), Maria Assumpció Janer (harp) and Maria Rosselló (soprano) form Trio Harmonia, an ensemble that combines the timbres of flute, harp and voice in a chamber music repertoire.

Catalina Roig Burguera, flute

Born in Santanyí, she studied at the Conservatory of the Balearic Islands and the Barcelona Municipal Conservatory of Music, graduating with the highest marks. She has performed with various chamber ensembles and participated in numerous music festivals, as well as collaborating with different orchestras, including the Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra. Since 2000, she has been a flute teacher at the Professional Conservatory of Music and Dance of Mallorca.

Maria Assumpció Janer, harp

Born in Palma, she studied at the Conservatory of the Balearic Islands and the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid, where she graduated with honours and received the Award for Academic Excellence. She collaborates with the Palma Municipal Band, the Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra and the symphony orchestras of Ibiza and Menorca, among other ensembles. She has performed as a soloist and has taken part in several recordings, combining traditional and contemporary repertoire.

Maria Rosselló Riera, soprano

Originally from Manacor, she began her vocal studies in Artà and later completed her higher education in Barcelona. She has performed as a soprano soloist with the Coral Universitària, the Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra and the Studium Chamber Choir. She also recorded the album Cançons mallorquines with Manel Garcia Morante.
